Steve Becker, Strength and Conditioning Coach

Steve Becker graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology.
Becker worked for the Milwaukee Bucks, as an assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2006-2008. In this position, Steve worked regularly with All-star guards Mo Williams, Michael Redd, and 1st overall pick Andrew Bogut. From 2006-2009 Becker also performed volunteer training for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with the Mens and Womens Olympic sports teams.
Becker spent the 2009-2010 basketball season with the Portland Trail Blazers as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. During his time with Portland he worked with All-star forward Brandon Roy and 1st Overall pick Greg Oden. Representing the Trail Blazers at the 2010 NBA pre draft camp, Becker took player measurements and directed players through strength, speed and agility testing.
While living in Oregon, Steve also volunteered his time training the University of Oregon Men’s basketball team of the Pac-10. He traveled to Boise to set up a strength and conditioning program for the NBDL’s Idaho Stampede, part of the NBA D-League. In addition, Steve worked the Nike Hoops Summit, an international boys high school basketball game featuring the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Select Team and the World Select Team, organized by Nike Basketball.
Steve has also served as a performance consultant for the Chinese National team, Junior National team and other Chinese Professional teams of the CBA at the United States Basketball Academy.
Steve currently owns and operates Athlete Performance, LLC, based out of Mequon, WI. He continues to train several of the Milwaukee area’s elite athletes through sport specific strength and conditioning programs.

Galen Harkness has been coaching and training high school and collegiate athletes since 2001. A true student of the game, he has entered his calling by becoming a Skill Development Trainer for Mike Lee Basketball.

Galen brings a positive, high-energy approach to his training in order to challenge all that he trains to reach a new level of performance. After coaching at the high school, NCAA Division II, and NCAA Division I levels Galen is truly enhancing the game of basketball through player development, which has always been his passion. He believes you have to put in the time, if you want to shine! Galen has passed the 101 point written skill development exam, on court exam, and spent 20 hours training with Mike in the gym. Rainer Meisterjahn, Mental Skills Trainer, Milwaukee Division

Dr. Meisterjahn earned his Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Sport Studies with a Concentration in Kinesiology and a Specialization in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior at the University of Tennessee in 2011. Additionally, he holds an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Frostburg State University and a B.A. in Behavioral Sciences with a Concentration in Psychology and a Minor in Coaching from the University of Maine at Machias (UMM). Dr. Meisterjahn is a Certified Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (CC-AASP). He played collegiate basketball at the University of Maine at Machias and competed for Dragons Rhöndorf in Germany where he also coached youth teams.
Over the past several years, Dr. Meisterjahn has provided mental skills training services for basketball players at all levels, including the NCAA Division-I, FIBA, and the NBA. Specifically, he has assisted players in building mental toughness, increasing focus, improving communication, etc. In 2011, Rainer conducted a series of interviews with NBA (e.g., Jermaine O’Neal, Chuck Hayes) and international players (e.g., Tremmell Darden, Rodrigo De La Fuente) at Impact Basketball in Las Vegas to inquire about players’ perceptions of mental challenges at the professional level and their utilization of mental skills. Dr. Meisterjahn frequently speaks at conferences and to groups of players and coaches about the mental game and has taught sport psychology and stress management classes at the university level.
In addition to his work off the court, Dr. Meisterjahn has designed and implemented on-court skills workouts for players such as Tobias Harris (Milwaukee Bucks) and Chris Lofton (former University of Tennessee All-American) and assisted with numerous NBA player workouts (e.g., John Wall, Jermaine O’Neal, Austin Daye). Thus, he was able to develop a keen understanding of the mental skills required for optimal skill utilization on the court. At Mike Lee Basketball, Dr. Meisterjahn teaches mental skills to players of all ability levels so as to help them maximize their basketball performance.
